Senior Project Engineer Job Summary

Adams Rite Aerospace is currently searching for a Senior Project Engineer to join our company. The ideal candidate will have proven abilities to execute projects and implement program initiatives. The individual must demonstrate strengths in project coordination and on-time delivery of project deliverables. Ultimately, the Senior Project Engineer is motivated to take ownership of assigned projects and see them through from inception to completion. This position will manage ongoing new product development as well as sustaining/legacy programs which includes planning efforts, cross-functional coordination, scope management, stakeholder communication, and project performance tracking. This position will report into the Engineering Manager of the Fluids division.
 
Primary Responsibilities

  • Leads engineering projects – coordinating all aspects to include: 
  • Project management & managing design phase processes.
  • Facilitation of meetings & developing customer communications, etc.
  • Focused on delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • Facilitates a collaborative engineering approach by closely coordinating product development and qualification with cross functional participants and 3rd party supplier representatives as appropriate.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for assigned projects, both internally and externally.
  • Drives planning efforts for projects and programs and ensures compliance to company and regulatory standards as well as best practices.
  • Supports the preparation of technical proposals for Requests for Information / Quotation.
  • Establishes milestones and develops and owns program plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Reviews and presents plans and progress reports of the program(s) to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifies and mitigates project risks and issues.
  • Interfaces with customers for project specifications and status meetings to ensure successful completion and maintain customer relationships.
  • Interfaces with suppliers and vendors for external deliverables.
  • Actively promotes product development process improvements.
  • Actively participates in department initiatives and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Maintains the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from peers and above.
  • Understands and adheres to Adams Rite Aerospace ethics and business conduct policies.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the department, including:
  • Product design, including CAD modeling and drawing creation.
  • Product validation and qualification, including testing and creation of reports and analyses.

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct project management and/or customer service experience in the Aerospace & Defense or Medical manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years design experience with electro-mechanical or fluids controls products.
  • Strong business acumen and customer interaction experience, in both customer relationship management and development.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Proficiency with Solidworks.
  • Must be able to travel domestically/internationally when requested.
  • Highest levels of personal integrity and honesty.

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • PMP Certification 
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000
